Bad Plus Bad Equals Really Bad!

On Friday the A&A team headed to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for a 360 Civil War show. Andy was 3rd quick, 3rd in his heat and started 5th in the A-Main. Andy fell back to 6th at the start but by lap 14 he over took the race leader Kyle Larson and looked to be on his way to victory, but on a restart with 4 laps to go Andy’s motor began to slow. A rock had gone through the radiator causing a loss of all water in the system, a blown head gasket & a DNF that should have been a victory.

On Saturday the crew put the spare 360 engine in the car and headed for Placerville CA. This motor had a history though, Memorial Day weekend Andy nursed it to a 2nd place finish when a rocker arm broke with 5 laps to go. Then the last victory at Placerville Andy broke another rocker arm on lap 2, but even on 7 cylinders Andy won the race, at that point we decided to replace all the rocker arms and everything would be fine, but pushing off to pack track they found the motor also had a bad lifter and the night was over before qualifying.

This weekend the team heads to Chico CA for a Golden State Challenge race, and on Saturday hopefully to Petaluma for a Civil War race if we can get one of the two 360’s fixed.

Another Bad Weekend!

On Friday the A&A Motorsports Team headed to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for a 410 points show. Andy was 2nd quick, 3rd in his heat and started the A-main in the 7th starting spot. While Andy was in the 4th position and with 9 laps to go his left rear tire started going flat, he restarted the race and a few laps later the tire finally blew out, the crew changed the tire and got him back out on the track, he would finish in the 9th spot. Andy still maintains the points lead by 18 points over local driver Sean Becker.

On Saturday the team went to Placerville for the $5000.00 to win Forni Memorial 360 race. Andy was 3rd quick, 4th in his heat and again started in the 7th starting spot. On lap 9 close quarter racing caused Andy to spin out bringing out the yellow, Andy tagged the rear, restarting at the rear of the field he made a few laps trying to move forward but never got in his rhythm and eventually got lapped, not running for points @ Placerville, Andy pulled in and saved the car for next week.

On Friday the A&A Team will be at Chico for a 360 CA Civil War race and Saturday at Placerville for a regular 360 points show.

After two weeks of mediocre runs the team is looking to get out of their slump and have some strong finishes.

On Friday the A&A Motorsports team headed to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for a 410 points race. Andy set fast time for the 2nd race in a row at Chico, finished 4th in his heat, and started 4th in the A-main event. Andy had a smooth race, finishing 3rd behind Andy Gregg and John Allard. Andy is still first in points holding a 26 point lead over Sean Becker.

On Saturday the team headed to Placerville for a 360 points race. Andy was 3rd quick, 3rd in his heat and started 5th in the A main event. After a 1st lap mishap Andy moved from the 5th spot to the outside front row, he took the lead going into the first turn and never looked back to claim his 5th win at Placerville and 7th win of the year.

This weekend the team will be in Chico on Friday for the 4th of July 410 points race, and Saturday off to Petaluma, CA for a 360 California Civil War Race.
